This season of How I Met Your Mother just got a bit more nostalgic because according to Vulture, Kyle MacLachlan will reprise his role as The Captain in an upcoming episode this year. The Captain originally appeared in the series as a man whose marriage was ruined when his wife and Ted begin a relationship.
All we know about the plot of this new episode is that The Captain contacts Ted out of the blue, which, of course, leads to Ted stressing out. With the series ending next season, it seems like the creators are looking to tie up all loose ends and feature as many past character as possible. MacLachlan's return will air on February 18.
