Brett Ratner is Producing an Animated "FarmVille" Series

This is really happening.

None

Just about everything and everyone is getting their own show these days, and that apparently even applies to social networking games. According to Deadline, Rush Hour director Brett Ratner has signed on to produce a half-hour animated series based on the popular game FarmVille. No network is attached to the series just yet, but the project hails from Canadian production company Six Eleven Media.

"FarmVille is one of the most exciting brands out there today and its cross-platform opportunities are endless," Ratner said of the project in a statement, "I am thrilled to be expanding the brand with existing fans and also engaging a whole new audience."

Ratner will executive produce the series. Now, we're not sure how a plot can be derived from a social networking game, but last year Univeral made a whole movie about the board game Battleship work out by hiring Rihanna, so, anything is possible.
