Eddie Murphy's 1984 hit Beverly Hills Cop is getting the TV treatment from CBS. The show will follow Axel Foley's (Murphy) son Aaron, who is also a cop. In Beverly Hills!
This could be a cool show, but wasn't the whole point of the original movie that Axel Foley was a fish out of water? Plus we're guessing CBS won't allow exchanges like this one:
Brandon T. Jackson plays Aaron; he's previously had parts in Fast and Furious, Percy Jackson, and Tropic Thunder. David Denman (Roy from The Office) will also star as a detective.
Men in Black and Get Shorty director Barry Sonnenfeld is set to direct the pilot, which Murphy will guest star in (some reports say he'll have a recurring role). The Shield creator Shawn Ryan is an executive producer alongside Murphy.
