Not even 24 hours after Lance Armstrong admitted to doping in an interview with Oprah, Deadline has broken the news that J.J. AbramsBad Robot production company and Paramount Pictures are targeting a movie version of the scandal. The two sides have closed the deal to option the screen rights to Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong, a book proposal for HarperCollins by Juliet Macur.

Macur covers sports for The New York Times, and has followed Armstrong’s career from his battle against cancer through his Tour de France victories and subsequent scandals. With the book only at the proposal stage, we’re not quite sure the specifics of what it will cover, but it will probably recount everything from his ascent to glory and his public spiral towards villainy. There is nothing like throwing a little more dirt on the grave.
