Instagram Requesting Government-Issued IDs From Its Users

Wha... why?

If you thought Instagram's Terms of Service was ridiculous, wait until you hear this one. Since the new TOS update has gone into effect, the photo sharing site is now pestering its users asking them to confirm their identity with a government-issued, photo ID. Sounds like a joke, right? Apparently, Facebook isn't fooling around. Here's a screenshot of the message:

And to make matters worse, Instagram could reject a user's ID if it's deemed insufficient. As a result, you could find yourself incapable of sharing photos with your followers. Yeah, we know how you feel.
