It looks like the cast of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has found its titular dame, because according to Coming Soon, Eva Green has landed the role of Ava Lord in the upcoming comic book sequel. This is a crucial part in the movie, and actresses from Rose McGowen to Salma Hayek to Angelina Jolie have all been rumored for it at one point. But in the end, director Robert Rodriguez decided Green was the way to go.

In a statement, Rodriguez and Sin City creator, Frank Miller, said, "We've been wanting to tell this story for a very long time. Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City. From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green. We are ecstatic that Eva is joining us."

Lord’s stunning good looks hide her violent, sociopathic tendencies as she manipulates her way through the vile streets of Sin City. And as we saw in Casino Royale, Green can perfectly play a woman who is equal parts beautiful, seductive, and deadly.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will hit theaters on October 4, 2013.
