Last week we reported on a story where Bradley Cooper expressed interest in playing Lance Armstrong in an upcoming biopic about the controversial cyclist that Paramount Pictures will be putting out. Now, according to Entertainment Tonight, Cooper is in discussions with producer J.J. Abrams about actually landing the part.

At the Producers Guild Awards, ET asked Abrams about Cooper’s interest, and he responded by saying, "[Cooper] sent me an email and we've been talking." Obviously that’s not much to go on, but with Cooper’s stock in Hollywood soaring at the moment, and his excitement about playing the role clearly evident, we can’t think of one good reason for this not to happen.

We’ll have more on this story when something official gets announced.
