We have to admit, we figured this was coming, but it's still sad news anyway. According to The Hollywood Reporter, only two days after pulling the series from their schedule, Fox has officially shut down production on and canceled newbie sitcom Ben and Kate. The current episode in production will reportedly not finish shooting, and the two remaining for the season will not completed either.

Despite critical acclaim, Ben and Kate never managed to pull in as large of an audience as hoped. As of the last episode, now the series finale, the series was averaging about 2.9 million viewers a week - disappointing numbers for a network as big as Fox. The network will now air a new episode of Raising Hope in Ben and Kate's timeslot until Hell's Kitchen premieres in March.
