Amazon To Bolster Original Programming with 'Zomibieland' Series

Your move Netflix.

It looks likes Amazon is playing it smart with its move to push more original programming. The company recently acquired the rights to Zombieland, the 2009 horror comedy that featured Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Woody Harrelson. The show was origianlly headed to CBS, but as Chris Welch reports:

Amazon is handling development on the series. Unfortunately it's doubtful we'll be seeing episodes pop up on Instant Video anytime soon; leaked casting sheets and script excerpts obtained by io9 last week suggest work on the project is just getting underway.

With Netflix and Hulu upping their original programming, Amazon is slowly positioning itself to be able to compete with the popular streaming services.
