A woman was killed after being hit by an MTA bus last night on 59th Street near Central Park. The woman has been identified as 33-year-old Aileen Martinez, and the NYPD says she was struck at West 59th Street and 7th Avenue around 8:25 p.m. The bus was reportedly turning onto 7th Avenue when the collision occurred.
According to NY1, Martinez was "pinned under one of the tires." She was pronounced dead at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital. A spokesman for MTA was unable to provide details, but the NYPD says there is "no criminality suspected."
