Horrible.

Last weekend's murder-suicide at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas appears to have been the violent result of a breakup between two people from the Chicago area. 31-year-old Edward C. Brandt of Lake Forest and 30-year-old Jessica Corinne Kenny of Grayslake dated for around six months and moved to Vegas before breaking up about two-and-a-half years ago.

Brandt moved back to the Chicago area following the breakup. On December 12, he checked into the Excalibur. At about 8:30 p.m. on December 14, he shot Kenny four times with a .38 caliber revolver before fatally shooting himself. He died at the scene, and Kenny passed away later on that evening.
