On the heels of the news that Modern Family star Ty Burrell would be joining the cast of the upcoming Muppets sequel film as an Interpol inspector, Vulture is reporting that Ricky Gervais may star in the film's "main human," a role that was previously held by Jason Segel in the last movie. Specifics of his character, should Gervais join the cast, have not been detailed, but it is known that the sequel will be set in Europe. We can already imagine the French/frog legs jokes packed into the script at Kermit's expense.
Disney is, reportedly, planning on a December 20, 2013 release for the film.
