We just posted the news that Doctor Octopus will technically be the new Spider-Man when Marvel debuts its new series, The Superior Spider-Man, next month, and now, courtesy of USA Today, we have a brand new preview of the title’s first issue. Written by Dan Slott with art by Ryan Stegman, here we see Ock’s mind inside Peter Parker’s body as he takes down his former team, the revamped Sinister Six.
The difference between Ock’s thoughts and dialogue are much different than Peter Parker’s here, which is what this whole gimmick is really all about. The book will explore how Ock attempts to make something positive of his life by taking on the Spider-Man mantle; however, there will be some growing pains along the way. Not much is really revealed in this preview, but it sets the stage nicely for much bigger things to come.
