It was recently reported that Kevin Smith’s next, and possibly last, film would be Clerks 3, and now, not only did the director confirm that news on Good Day L.A., but he talked about when and how he wants to shoot it. Here is what Smith said on the show:

“Instead of letting people [guess] for years, I said, ‘I will do Clerks 3 and by 2014 is the 20th anniversary we’re going to mark it somehow, God willing, with Clerks 3.’” He continued, “We need Jeff Anderson to come back and say yes.” Jeff Anderson played Randal in both Clerks movies.

Smith then said that he would actually try and make the movie for $27,000 like he did on the first Clerks in 1994.

“I would try that. If Brian and Jeff and Jason and Scott Mosier and myself could all … do it for next to nothing, we’ll own it and then hopefully sell it, and that’s where we’ll make our money on the backend, I would happily do it for $27k, $28k.”

Is the world ready for more Clerks, or should Smith find some other swan song for his directorial career? Let us know what you think.
