Looks like the 2011 ReelzChannel series, The Kennedys, could be returning to television. According to Deadline, the network and Muse Entertainment are eyeing a sequel to the 2011 miniseries, which starred Greg Kinnear and Katie Holmes as the legendary president and first lady. So, we hope you didn't expose yourself to spoilers by attending any history class ever, or reading Wikipedia!

If the sequel happens, it will be based on J. Randy Taraborrelli's book, After Camelot, and will pick up right where its predecessor left off - in 1968 just after the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy. Eight episodes are expected to be produced.

Joel Sunrow, who executive produced the first series, is not expected to be involved in the sequel, and, as the project is still in the early development stages, there's been no word on Kinnear and Holmes' potential participation yet.

The Kennedys premiered on ReelzChannel to fairly mixed reviews and solid ratings in April 2011, and went on to win four Emmys after it aired. Though originally commissioned by The History Channel, the show was dropped from the network before its premiere due to what's thought to have been pressure from the Kennedy family.
