Spartacus may be set to come to an end after this upcoming season, but that may not be all for the franchise. According to Deadline, the show's network, Starz, is considering commissioning a spin-off of the show, which would surround Roman leader Gaius Julius Caesar. Though it's still in the early stages of discussion, the spin-off would be helmed by Spartacus executive producer Robert Tapert.

The character of Julius Caesar is set to be introduced in the series some time during the upcoming third season, and is portrayed by Australian actor Todd Lasance. As his storyline picks up before he's begun "his ascent toward ruling the Roman state," it could be the perfect set-up for a spin-off.

The third and final season of Spartacus, titled War of the Damned, is set to premiere on January 25th.
