According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sinister director Scott Derrickson has been hired by CBS Films to helm an adaptation of the video game series Deus Ex. Derrickson will also write the script for the movie, along with his Sinister co-writer Robert Cargill. Though the video game franchise has been around for years, this movie will borrow heavily from its latest installment, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which was released in 2011.

That game focused on a former security specialist who is outfitted with mechanical augmentations after sustaining injuries during an attack. There are some Blade Runner-esque themes going on that could make for an interesting movie if Derrickson can harness the game’s full potential.
