Marvel has announced that next March will finally see the debut of the highly-anticipated event comic Age of Ultron. Written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Bryan Hitch, Carlos Pacheco, and Brandon Peterson, this 10-issue event will kick off with Ultron, the classic Avengers foe, ruling the world. Here is the official synopsis from the company:

Ultron, a deadly sentient robot created by founding Avenger Hank Pym who turned on his creator to achieve his twisted objective…the utter destruction of humanity. Now that Ultron has conquered, enslaving most of the world’s Super Heroes, it’s up to a small group of resistance fighters—including Invisible Woman, Taskmaster, Beast, Emma Frost, She-Hulk, Luke Cage, Spider-Man, Wolverine and Moon Knight—to find a way overcome darkness and bring hope back a world that has suddenly lost everything. Once this landmark ten-issue event concludes, the reverberations will be felt in every corner of the Marvel Universe, leaving no hero or villain unscathed.

This story has been hinted at since The Avengers comic book series was relaunched back in 2010, but for some reason it took until now – with another Avengers relaunch on the horizon – to finally see the light of day. We’re not sure if this event will encompass any crossover titles like Civil War or Fear Itself, but it is likely. You can check out some art for Age of Ultron from Bryan Hitch below:
