Infinity Ward Responds to Voice Actor's 'Modern Warfare 4' Claim

'Not true,' 'speculation,' etc.

None

On Tuesday, voice actor Bill Murray (not that one, the British one), who plays Captain Price in the Modern Warfare series, reportedly said that he was meeting with series developers Infinity Ward about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. While we've come to expect a Call of Duty game every November, Activision has yet to confirm what the next one will be, so naturally that claim made headlines here and elsewhere.

But Infinity Ward responded to Murray's statement on Twitter, and without actually mentioned the words "modern," "warfare" or "4," the studio debunked the whole thing pretty succinctly:

Interesting news today, but it’s not true. We’ve not talked with any voice actors, so all news is speculation.

Bummer. If they'd left out the bit about not having talked with any voice actors, then this would be less black and white. But it is what it is. Wonder what Murray was talking about? Maybe he's just as crazy as the other Bill Murray? Or do you think Infinity Ward is just bending the truth to its immutable will?
