Looks like those previously reported negotiations for Shailene Woodley to take on the coveted role of Mary Jane Watson in the sequel to Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man went well: The A.V. Club is reporting that Woodley has officially been offered the role of Mary Jane for the second and third installments of the film franchise.

Woodley's role in the second film will reportedly be only a "very small part," but it leaves the door open for her become "an integral lead" in the third film. This, spoiler alert, makes it likely that the films will follow the classic Gwen Stacy-death arc from the comics, meaning the second film may very well be Emma Stone's last. Is it really a spoiler alert if the spoiler has been around for nearly 40 years?

Woodley has also been offered a role to star in a film adaptation of the young adult novels Divergent, so it's probably safe to say she's going to be a pretty busy girl from here on out. Who knew a real career could come out of starring in The Secret Life of the American Teenager!
