Paul Attanasio Hired To Rewrite "Scarface" Remake

Excited about another one?

None

According to Deadline, writer Paul Attanasio (Donnie Brasco) has been hired by Universal to rewrite the script to the studio’s upcoming remake of Scarface. This movie is being described as an updated version of the story that was told in Howard Hawks’ 1932 original version and Brian De Palma’s 1983 take on the material.

It will again focus on an immigrant that rises through the ranks of the criminal world in search of the American dream. It’s not known what nationality this particular version of Scarface will focus on, but we wouldn’t expect it to include either an Italian or Cuban main character like the other two. We'll have more on this project as it becomes available.
