A unique visual style wasn't enough to pull this off.

According to Deadline, NBC will most likely pass on turning the proposed Munsters reboot, titled Mockingbird Lane, into a full series. The project was developed by Bryan Fuller and the pilot was actually directed by Bryan Singer, but apparently the show’s strong visual style wasn’t enough for network brass to move it forward.

The unseen pilot starred Jerry O’Connell as Herman Munster; Portia de Rossi as his wife, Lily; and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa. It isn’t known whether or not the pilot will ever see the light of day, but it seems like everything leaks on the Internet eventually. Hopefully we'll be able to see it and judge for ourselves.
