New York police shot and killed a man who was pulled over for weaving through traffic and cutting off an NYPD Emergency Service Unit vehicle this morning on Grand Central Parkway. The shooting occurred at 5:00 a.m., and closed down roads for over one-and-a-half hours

A member of the ESU pulled the man's car over, saw the man with two women in the car, and asked him to show his hands. Instead of complying, the man reached under the seat, and the officer shot him once in the stomach. No weapon was found in the car, only a power drill (it's unclear if that was what the man was reaching for). He was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died.

Update: A local media source identified the victim of the shooting as Noel Polanco, a 22-year-old National Guardsman. A friend of Polanco said that he had returned from duty a while back.

Additionally, one of the women in the car was an off-duty police officer who was supposedly sleeping when the shooting occurred.
