Universal Confirms That Sequels To "Ted" And "The Bourne Legacy" Are In Development

Inevitable, but still welcome news.

In a story that shouldn’t be altogether unexpected, The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke confirmed that sequels to both Ted and The Bourne Legacy are currently in development. The announcement came at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch 2012 Media, Communications & Technology conference in L.A.

Even though The Bourne Legacy didn’t exactly light up the box office this past summer, it still did well enough for Universal to stick with its venerable franchise. Maybe Jeremy Renner will finally catch on with audiences after another installment in the series. And as far as Ted is concerned, Burke said they expect to get the sequel out, "as soon as we can." We hope that doesn't mean it will be rushed, but we have plenty of faith in Seth MacFarlane to get it done right.
