Doctors Developing 'Painless' Laster to Replace Needles

Kids will no longer fear doctor visits.

Doctors visits will soon be a lot less painful with the development of a laser-based drug injection system.

According to Phys.org, the laser-based system “blasts microscopic jets of drugs into the skin [that] could soon make getting a shot as painless as being hit with a puff of air.” Microsecond bubbles of air are created which penetrate the skin injecting the drugs with the new laser system.

Testing has been successful on guinea pigs, so professor and engineer Jack Yoh of Seoul National University in South Korea is pushing for clinical use of the laser system.

Where was this technology when I was a child?
