Copyright Dispute Forces GamrCred Name Change

The meta-achievements site is now known as GamrRank.

A copyright dispute with unnamed but "presumably evil corporate overlords" has caused meta-achievements start-up GamrCred to change its name mere days after the service was unveiled.

Said evil corporation reportedly took umbrage with the site's play on the term "street cred." Isn't copyright law great? Rather than waste time and money fighting it, the folks at Empire Avenue (BioWare vets) simply held a poll and let users determine the new name.

GamrRank garnered 65 percent of said vote, and thus it was written. Ramen.

GamrRank, as it's now known, tracks play time of various games and gives users ranks based on their achievements and online discussions, among other things. There's no doubt some complicated algorithm behind it. All we know is we crave arbitrary points systems, so we're in.
