First appearance: Marvel Zombies #1 (2005)

Are there any two genres more popular than superheroes and zombies at the moment? Probably not. And in 2005, Marvel put them together in a gimmicky miniseries titled Marvel Zombies.

The story deals with a zombie virus spreading and infecting all of the characters in the company. It was a unique combination of horror and heroism that was fun for fans of both genres. But Marvel Zombies really proved to be nothing more than an empty piece of entertainment that added nothing new to either side.

Unfortunately, Hollywood thrives on disposable entertainment, so it's perfectly natural to be nervous that a studio executive is going to accidentally learn about Marvel Zombies and order a film adaptation. The last thing the world needs is for these two overexposed genres to merge into one unstoppable force that would cheapen both sides.
