Despite earning less than what was initially projected, The Bourne Legacy topped the box office last weekend by pulling in about $38.1 million - rather successful, considering its opening weekend took place the same time as the Olympics and the closing ceremony. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this weekend is likely to be different, however, with the "testosterone-fueled" Expendables 2 expected to take the top spot in the domestic box office. Earnings are predicted to be somewhere in the range of $30 million, but some are projecting as high as $35 million.

Legacy is expected to come in second, unless newcomer family film ParaNorman surprises and performs better than expected. All goes to show how much a film's release date matters in terms of its overall gross - take note, everyone who's still bitter about The Great Gatsby's release date being pushed from its December 25th release date to next year.

What do you plan on seeing this weekend?
