67-year-old Allen Troy Brooks was in dire need of a ride to get beer, so he reached out to the most logical source: 911. The Columbia, TN, native called 911 at least nine times on Saturday, and while most of the calls were hang-ups, he did ask if they could send someone to pick him up and drive him to buy beer at least one time.

Brooks was told by authorities that he would get off with just a citation if he cooperated, but he denied making the calls, claiming that he didn't have a telephone. This led to his arrest for calling 911 repeatedly for non-emergencies. He was released on on bond. It's surprising he didn't call 911 and ask for a ride home.
