Children of the ‘80s rejoice! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is developing a movie based on the surreal sitcom ALF with Jordan Kerner (The Smurfs) on as producer. The show’s original co-creator and puppeteer, Paul Fusco, is also going to be working on the film and is expected to reprise his role as the voice of ALF as well for the movie.

The movie will be a hybrid of CGI and live-action, but we’re not sure if there will be any puppet version of ALF used similar to the way he was portrayed in the original show. During the course of the '80s TV series, ALF centered on a furry alien creature with an appetite for cats that crash lands on Earth and becomes the pet/roommate of a suburban family. We'll have more information on this project as it becomes available.
