The U.S. Army currently is at its highest rate of suicide according to RT, with 116 suspected suicide deaths for 2012. A scientist from the Indiana University School of Medicine has been issued a grant to develop a nasal spray to suppress the thought of suicide.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just get our depressed troops back home? Surely that would lower a soldier’s stress level and thoughts of suicide instead of having them reside in countries where they are not wanted.
Anyway, the scientists will be working on quick-acting version of a thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH), that brings a “euphoric, calming, anti-depressant” to the user. If TRH proves to be successful with the U.S. Army look out for doctors to subscribe TRH to the masses. With “euphoric” effects why would someone not want to be prescribed TRH?
