New Jersey Samaritans Mistakenly Aid Robber By Restraining Victim

All mixed up.

None

Two drivers thought they were doing the right thing in Plainfield, NJ, when they saw what they believed to be some evil man attempting to rob some poor, helpless woman. As it turns out, the man was actually the victim. When police showed up, he explained that the woman had attacked him, and that he was trying to keep her from getting him for $400 and a gold chain.

When the do-gooders arrived and held him down, they actually helped her escape. Surveillance footage from a local gas station verified the man's story, and while the woman is still at large, the city's Public Safety Director says that "progress" is being made.

Yeah, like one step forward and two steps back.
