Instagram has seen some of the most explosive growth out of any social network in history. After two years, the photo-sharing service had 15 million users. After it expanded beyond iOS to Android, that number more than doubled to around 80 million. But Instagram's appeal isn't limited to consumers. Turns out brands are quickly getting familiar.

A new study by Simply Measured showed that 40% of the Interbrand Top 100 Global Brands have set up Instagram accounts. While that number is well short of Facebook and Twitter, which, respectively have 98% and 94% of the top brands, it's a very good sign for a platform that's not yet 24 months old.

To see a full breakdown of the numbers, as well as a list of the most successful brands on Instagram, check out the two charts above.
