For those of you out there old enough to remember the Bill & Ted movies, you’ll certainly know why this series should probably never be resurrected. But according to Vulture, Hollywood is looking to revisit the franchise whether it’s necessary or not. The site is reporting that Bill & Ted creators Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson have now attached Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) to direct the third movie in the series.

MGM owns the rights to the movie at this time, but with its current financial problems, it is looking for another studio to help co-finance the project. Even so, the movie will have to wait a bit until Parisot is done with his directing work on Red 2 before he can start on Bill & Ted.

The article also confirms that this threequel will reunite original stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter in the main roles of Bill and Ted. At least this won’t be a reboot or remake like we have seen countless times over the past few years from Hollywood.
