The Galaxy water park in Erding, Germany, has banned women from one of its X-Treme high-speed slides following injuries of an "intimate" nature suffered by female riders. Yikes. The X-Treme Faser slide is capable of free-falls of up to 45 miles per hour, and at least six women have been injured. Meanwhile, no male riders have sustained any injuries.
The park says it hopes to reopen the ride to women, just as soon as it develops a special protective suit for them. The Galaxy also defended its actions, saying that they are "trying to do right by women." So no, this is not gender discrimination, its a public service. Right?
