While Amazon is reportedly working out the logistics that would allow it to offer same-day shipping, eBay leapfrogged the online retail giant and rolled out a quick-shipping service of its own.
Called eBay Now, the service comes with an iOS app that allows users to shop from local shops and the goods delivered on the same day. Still in beta (sign up here), eBay Now is only available in the city of San Francisco. A lot of big-name retailers, including Macy's, Bloomingdales, and Target, have partnered with eBay for the launch.
There's a $5 delivery fee for each purchase over $25. To get people onboard, eBay is offering beta users free shipping on their first three orders and $15 off their first purchase.
