Instead of taking the lazy way out by relying on simple numerals for its sequel titles, Marvel is getting a little bit more creative with its next Thor and Captain America installments. According to Coming Soon, the studio announced at Comic-Con that the next Captain America movie will be titled Captain America: The Winter Soldier and that the next Thor movie will be called Thor: The Dark World.

We assumed the next Captain America movie would be based off of the "Winter Soldier" storyline from the comics, but now we have irrefutable proof of it. In the comics, the Winter Solider is none other than Bucky Barnes—Cap’s WWII sidekick who was presumed dead for decades. He comes back as a brainwashed Soviet spy looking for revenge on his former mentor. In Captain America: The First Avenger, Barnes (Sebastian Stan) was last seen falling to his apparent death from a runaway train, but you can obviously expect him to return now. Whether he's still being played by Stan remains to be seen.

The title Thor: The Dark World is much more ambiguous, as it could pertain to any number of things. But we’re going to go out on a limb and guess that it will have something to do with the Dark Elves from the comics, who are led by the villainous Malekith.

Thor: The Dark World will hit theaters on November 8, 2013, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be released on April 4, 2014.
