Sega announced today that will take the time to bring Phantasy Star Online 2 to North America and Europe in 2013. The free-to-play MMORPG, released in Japan last week, is the follow-up to the experimental Dreamcast game, which helped pave the way for online multiplayer on consoles.
Though the game is currently a PC-exclusive, Japanese versions of the game for the PS Vita and smartphone ports are in the works. Sega didn't specifically mention plans to bring either of the upcoming mobile versions stateside, but they didn't rule it out either.
