Paul McCartney confirmed that he's working with Bungie to write music for their upcoming game series, "Project Destiny".

"I'm really excited to be working on writing music with @bungie, the studio that made Halo," McCartney tweeted, along with the image above.

McCartney revealed that he was working on video game-based project back in January during an interview German publication, Die Zeit. During that interview, McCartney said that writing music for a game would be a chance for him to get his music to "the next generation".

"Project Destiny" is the codename for Bungie's yet-to-be-revealed "sci-fantasy shooter" series, to be published by Activision. Though neither company has spoken about the series, logistical details, including the release windows for each of the series' four games, were made public during the lawsuit between Activision and former Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella.

The first part of "Project Destiny" is expected to hit stores Fall 2013 on both Xbox 360 and the next Xbox, based on the contract between Bungie and Activision.
