To some, the 1950s were the good ol' days. Men were men, women were women, and if they weren't, they got spanked.
Those people are assholes.
According to an article in the long-deceased New York Daily Mirror, four men in Brooklyn said they kept the womenfolk in line with spankings.
As parking lot attendant Teddy Gallei put it: "You bet, it teaches them who's boss. A lot of women tend to forget this is a man's word." Funny, we doubt this logic is what inspired James Brown to pen his classic track.
