In the wake of the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado, which left 12 dead and 71 injured, you would think that any gun-wielding imagery would be shut down for the time being. Well, such was not the case when Madonna took the stage across the pond in Scotland. Despite multiple warnings from local police and laws strictly prohibiting brandishing firearms (even of the fake variety), the 53-year-old singer did as she pleased and waved faux machine guns and pistols during her performance.

"Madonna would rather cancel her show than censor her art," a tour representative told the Huffington Post.

Normally, there wouldn't be much attention paid to the pop star's live show, but coming off the heels of the tragic shooting during the midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, the decision to keep the guns in the performance might have been in poor taste.
