There's a few big rivals in the online movie and TV streaming game and two of the biggest, HBO GO and Netflix, are about as friendly as oil is with water.
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has often pointed to HBO as one of his company's biggest threats, so observers were surprised when he suggested the two entities might find a way to work together in a recent note to investors. Would HBO shows soon find their way into Netflix's catalog? Not so fast.
In a statement responding to Hastings's comments, a spokesman for HBO said the broadcaster has no plans of doing business with Netflix in the near future.
"We are not in discussions and have no plans to work with Netflix," HBO spokesman Jeff Cusson said.
Looks like Hastings was getting a little ahead of himself. For now, you'll still have to go to two different places to watch The Newsroom and Sports Night.
