First off, here's some mood music.

Secondly, according to The Hollywood Reporter, A&E has officially picked up Carlton Cuse's Psycho prequel series, Bates Motel, for ten episodes, despite there being no pilot produced for screening yet. The series will reportedly begin pre-production and casting immediately, and is scheduled for a 2013 premiere.

The series is described as a "contemporary exploration" (AKA, everyone will have cell phones) of Norman Bates' younger years, and will chronicle his relationship with his mother as well as give insight into his backstory.
