V/H/S made its way into the collective internet consciousness after a member of the audience passed out from terror during a screening at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Since then, we have been eagerly awaiting any news and footage from the movie that we could get our grubby hands on. Now, finally, a trailer for the movie has been released, and it seems like the film's buzz might actually live up to the hype.

Revolving around a group of criminals who are hired to steal a VHS tape from a rundown house, this movie uses the "found footage" gimmick to great effect. The film is actually an anthology piece, with shorts written and directed by various talents. We're hoping this means that each segment has its own flavor and unique brand of terror. Obviously, it's difficult to tell which parts of the trailer will belong to which short, so we'll have to wait until the movie is released to find out who does the best job of making us pass out.

V/H/S will be available on VOD on Aug. 31 and will debut in theaters on Oct. 5.
