According to Vulture, Ryan Phillipe is making a foray into directing after turning down the lead role in upcoming CBS series Golden Boy which he had originally signed on to. He will make his debut with a thriller titled Shreveport, about a "fading movie star" who, while shooting a low-budget film in Shreveport, Louisiana, is kidnapped and tortured. Is this supposed to be some kind of social commentary?
Anyway, Shreveport will film in - surprise! - Shreveport, beginning this summer.
