Rumor: "Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation" on PS Vita Will Star a Female Afro-French Assassin

And it'll take place in New Orleans and across the Gulf of Mexico.

None

Courtesy of Joystiq comes the first (possibly) concrete info we've heard on the PS Vita Assassin's Creed 3 title, Liberation.

The game will reportedly be set in New Orleans and across the Gulf of Mexico at the end of the French-Indian War, and will star a French female protagonist of African descent.

The info comes courtesy of neoGAF user ImLibo, who claims to have received his (or her) July issue of Game Informer early. He (or she) isn't the only one, as others tweeted images (one and two) to back the claims up.

If the bit about having an African protagonist is true, Liberation will likely focus at least in part on slavery at that time in American history, which should prove interesting. Let us know what you think in the comments or on Twitter.
