The cast of director Steve McQueen's (Hunger, Shame) Twelve Years a Slave just added another outstanding talent as Deadline is reporting that Michael Kenneth Williams (Boardwalk Empire) has been pegged to star alongside Michael Fassbender, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Brad Pitt in the film. Williams will play Robert, a mutinous slave in the movie.
Based on Solomon Northup's 1853 novel of the same name, Twelve Years a Slave will revolve around a free black man who is drugged and dragged to the South to be sold into slavery. There is no firm release date yet, but the movie will most likely hit theaters at some point in 2013.
