Keeping with the trend of statistics that more males over the age of 50 watch HBO's Girls as opposed to actual girls, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg revealed that he is a big fan of the series.
"We love the show for inspiring people to move to New York City and become the ‘voice of a generation,’ as Hannah would say," he praised the series. Even Deputy Mayor Howard Wolfson agreed, adding that they wouldn't say no to cameos in the series if asked. "They need only whistle and we’d show," he said.
"We want the next set of brilliant writers to watch the show and say, 'I want to move to New York, too,'" Wolfson continued. "It shows the city in a different way than Sex and the City did, but also positively."
