It's almost time, folks! Bioware announced that the "extended cut" of the Mass Effect 3 ending will available as free DLC for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this Tuesday.

In case you've forgotten, Bioware announced that they were making an "extended cut" ending in response to the public outcry response to the game's controversial ending.

The new ending will add additional scenes and an extended epilogue to the game's current ending. The extra content will theoretically make some of the series most agitated, hardcore fans less angry about seeing how commander Shepard's story comes to an end.  Fans who were expecting the story to fundamentally change are going to remain disappointed.

"[The Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC] does not fundamentally change the endings, but rather it expands on the meaning of the original endings, and reveals greater detail on the impact of player decisions," according to the Bioware Blog.

If you want to hear more about what Bioware is adding to Mass Effect 3 after the fact, you can check out the interview above with ME3 executive producer Casey Hudson and lead writer Mac Walters. Before you do do, though, you should know that the discussion may include a few spoilers: Watch at your own risk!
