Even though Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes was a hit with comic and cartoon fans everywhere, Marvel has decided to pull the plug on the show and replace it with an Avengers cartoon that more closely resembles the movie, according to TV Guide. The brand-new Marvel's Avengers Assemble will debut sometime in 2013, along with a new Hulk cartoon called Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H, which looks about as bad as it sounds.

In an interview with the site, Marvel's Executive Vice President, Head of Television, Jeph Loeb said, "The Avengers movie has been the ambassador to the world for the Marvel Universe so we want a show that has the feel and the tone and the incredible adventures like that movie. So the next project that we're working on — and this is down in our lab, top secret, with the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents protecting us at all costs — is Marvel's Avengers Assemble, which will be a brand new and really extraordinary looking animated series dealing with the Avengers in that same world."

This move marks the beginning of what looks to be a new era for Marvel where every medium (film, TV, comics) will be identical. Does this mean that we'll start seeing the same exact stories across every platform? Most likely. With Avengers making so much money at the box office, Marvel doesn't seem like it wants to stray too far from a successful formula.
